Astronomy In The Park

What We Do At This Event

The San Antonio Astronomical Association offers a free to the public event called “Astronomy In The Park”. Every Wednesday evening from dusk to 10pm volunteers from the club set up multiple telescopes of various designs and sizes, showing the seasonal objects of the sky. Depending on the time of year you attend, you might be shown Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, The Moon, Galaxies, Star Clusters or other significant objects visible at the time. Our volunteers will do their best to answer any questions about Astronomy or the equipment being used.

The San Antonio Astronomical Association is a NASA accredited public outreach organization ranking as one of the most active groups in the US. We educate thousands of children and adults every year at our numerous public outreach events.

It is recommended you arrive just before dark, dress accordingly for the weather, and bring something to drink. Please check our Facebook or Twitter page before heading out to our event to make sure the even has not been cancelled due to in-climate weather or poor viewing conditions.
