Occultation Special Interest Group (OIG)


The Occultation SIG is a special section of the SAAA devoted to observers who enjoy observing the occultations by the Moon, asteroids, and other bodies in the solar system, as well as transits by the moons of Jupiter and planets across the Sun. The moderator is Rick Frankenberger

Definitions

Occultation: the obscuration of one celestial body by another of greater apparent diameter, especially the passage of the Moon in front of a star or planet. - from the Astronomical Almanac.
